Kent Creative Arts CIC is a not-for-profit art organisation aiming at enhancing communities through the arts and promoting local creativity in Kent by means of partnerships with artists, local residents and businesses. We are aiming at involving people in an active way as well as in audiences, building a local community and helping put the arts and culture into people’s lives. We believe that the arts constitute key activities for people’s wellbeing and communities harmony.
How does your charity/project support the local community?
A Year in the Life is meant to motivate people to get involved with something they are passionate about, the area they live in. Photography being accessible to all, it is used in this project as a medium for residents to be active as a community, to express what they feel, and to communicate and share their views and feelings.
What do you plan to use the CommunityForce award for?
The project will culminate in exhibitions and books in 2012, for all participants and visitors to share. Funds will be spent on editing and printing the exhibition pictures, editing and printing the books, hire exhibition halls, design promotional literature, marketing etc...
