Girl Guiding Holderness Division

Our aim is for girls in our local area to join in with all guiding has to offer. As well as our weekly meetings, we hope to give every girl, whatever their personal circumstances the chance to take part in a day out and experience a residential event.

What does your charity/project do?

Girlguiding offers girls from 5-25 the opportunity to join with friends to take on new challenges, learn new skills, reach their potential and learn to be a valuable member of the community.

How does your charity/project support the local community?

We are an organisation which is firmly rooted within our local community. We attend church parades, village shows, community Christmas events (carol singing etc), mayors parade, remembrance services, garden parties, raising funds for other community groups and projects.

What do you plan to use the CommunityForce award for?

We would like to run a division day out, pack holiday and camp, so all our members can take part, whatever their experience. We would like to replace some of our old equipment and set up a resource store for leaders to use. Some of our older girls have the chance to represent us at international events (e.g. service at Indian orphanage, school projects in 3rd world countries, camps in other countries) This can be very costly to the girls and their families, we would like to offer them assistance.
