We have sought land owner permission (Tamworth Borough Council), consulted the local community and currently have planning permission being processed. In addition we are at the later stages of a lottery big for the track costruction costs. This application would fund other community improvements to the area around the track that are not covered in the current lottery bid.
How does your charity/project support the local community?
The track provides a free to use community track and improvements to local open space. The area suffers health issues and Tamworth was anounced as the "fat" capital of the UK. This track will benefit local people because it will provide a free to use exercise venue. In addition the improvements to open spaces will provide an area for famalies to enjoy that is attractive and safe. the area suffers low level anti-social issues and a likewise project in Nuneaton reduced this by 50% in the area.
What do you plan to use the CommunityForce award for?
The funds will provide a provision of extra seating for children/famalies in the location, planting of wild flowers/bulbs in the location and more litterbins for the site. Broad costs (based on recent estimates) £500 Cast Iron Litter bins £4000 Larger "Sheltered/covered" seating £500 wildflower mix & bulbs for community planting days
