We started an under 7's football team in March 2011. In June 2011 we started an under 6's team and we adopted an under 16's team. Teams train once each week and have registered for local leagues. We have affiliated with the FA. In the future we hope to achieve the FA Charter Standard Award and forge solid links with schools in our locality and are on the way to linking with Burnley FC who will help with training and maintaining high standards. We also aim to increase the number of teams we have
How does your charity/project support the local community?
Rosegrove FC is a project BY our community - FOR our community. We recruit volunteers from within the community and provide necessary training free of charge, by the FA or other professional body. We will be arranging social events in our community and fundraising activities where we aim to split the proceeds raised with local charities in our town and the club. We aim to bring our local community together through football.
What do you plan to use the CommunityForce award for?
£6000 would go a long way towards: Paying for training courses for new volunteers, Replacing any worn and broken equipment, Buying new equipment to improve training sessions, Maintaining and upgrading training facilities Buy publicity material to advertise new initiatives Buying equipment (balls. bibs, balls, goals etc.) for new teams Buy trophies for presentation evening
